E-CAMP

E-CAMP (Environmental Career Awareness for Middle School Peers) is our program for students in grades 6-8! We go on outdoor adventures and explore nature; it’s all about learning and hanging out with friends and peers. E-CAMP runs in the summer, fall and spring; each section is a little different, scroll down for a full description of each program. Each session focuses on positive experiences in nature, building community and learning about the natural world around us.

Has your child aged out of E-CAMP? Check out our Counselor-in-Training summer program for youth ages 14-17 years old!

Spring E-CAMP General Information

This series of programs is offered on Poudre School District school-out days and is open to students in grades 6-8.

For all dates, be prepared to spend the entire day outside. In case of very cold weather, we will reserve an indoor space on the CSU main campus.

Registration Process and Cost

Online registration is required for E-CAMP. Spring E-CAMP registration typically opens in February.

Registration is first come first serve. Each E-CAMP program is capped at 12 participants; once 12 participants have been registered the event will be automatically removed from the online store.

Once a program date is filled we will start a wait list. Please email us at elc@csuelc.org to be added to the wait list. People will be added to the wait list in the order in which these requests are received.

Each program is $35 per child. When you register, you will have the option to pay online, mail us a check or bring payment on the day of the program. Payment is due in full on the day of the program.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to elc@csuelc.org. Cancellations received more than two weeks prior to the program date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received within two weeks of the program date will not be refunded, but a credit towards future programs can be requested.

Location

Drop off and pick up for all events will take place at our East Drake site.

Spring ECAMP Dates and Description

This spring our focus will be on outdoor recreation, its impacts on natural resources, and how we manage our public lands. As with all of our programs, ECAMP will be led by CSU undergraduate students. Through their courses, internships, and research experiences, they have the most up to date knowledge on these topics. Plus, they’re very enthusiastic and full of passion! Join us this spring!

February 20
We’re going to focus on birds and the importance of wetland habitats. Join us to learn how to bird, do some birding, and explore the positive and negative impacts of recreation on our avian friends. ***This program has been cancelled due to low enrollment.***

April 21
On the eve of Earth Day, we’ll focus on some service learning related to recreation impacts. We’ll sprinkle in some recreation of our own – – perhaps some tracking, geocaching, or birding will be in store!
