Explore the World Through Geosciences
Geoscience expertise allows us to better understand and predict the interactions between people and Earth’s systems; such expertise is essential to developing solutions to critical economic, environmental, health, and safety challenges.
Students in the Department of Geosciences gain hands-on skills through course work, field work, internships, and volunteer work. Students apply what they learn, and develop important skills essential to the work that they will pursue after graduation.
The Geosciences program permits individual attention and strong student-professor interaction. Classes are made interactive by field trips, visiting speakers, and informal career discussions.
Black Rams Matter: A note of solidarity
The Department of Geosciences stands in solidarity with our university and college in the recognition of longstanding inequity and discrimination and is committed to advocating for and building a just and equitable future.
