With concentrations in Natural Resource and Global Tourism, this degree prepares students for careers in tourism in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, with an emphasis on how tourism can support sustainability and development goals at local to international scales, including attentiveness to equity and justice in tourism-related delivery and benefits.

The curriculum emphasizes courses in tourism management, marketing and planning, natural resources, tourism business, and social sciences. The major is focused on developing skills for managing recreation and tourism enterprises, such as small business outfitting and guiding companies, ecotourism companies and resorts, winter sports operations, state travel and tourism offices and travel bureaus, hotel and lodging associations, and tour associations.
