A research-focused program that will prepare graduates for careers in research, fish and wildlife management, or academic study. Students conduct independent research under a faculty advisor, presenting their results in an oral defense and a written thesis (Plan A) or professional paper (Plan B).

The program culminates in a high degree of specialization, an oral defense, and a written dissertation.
