Legend has it, Handana was uncovered during the construction of Warner College of Natural Resources, unearthed as the foundation for the recent addition to the building was dug. Others believe Handana washed ashore Horsetooth Reservoir after guiding a lost Warner student to safety. And some say it just appeared one day, tied to the neck of Oomi by a mysterious hand.

We may never know the truth to this legend, but what we do know is that Handana continues to show up in mysterious places. From the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, to Mexico and Romania, this green cloth has traveled over tens of thousands of miles in Warner students’ pockets, around their necks, atop their heads, or attached to their gear. More than just a piece of cloth, Handana provides its Warner family companionship on their journeys, offering all students a reminder of home.
