About Evan

I live in California and work primarily in mountain wetlands of the Sierra Nevada, Southern Cascades, and Coast Ranges. My main focus is on the interaction of water, soil, and plant processes that form and maintain wetlands. I study how that interaction can be disrupted by human impacts (e.g. grazing, roads, ditches, groundwater pumping, etc.), and I implement restoration projects to achieve naturally functioning and self-stabilizing ecosystems.
