CHULUUN Togtokh, Ph.D. Science Director of the Insititute for Sustainable Development, National University of Mongolia Director General of the Department of Green Development Policy and Planning, Ministry of Environment and Green Development, Mongolia Chuluun Togtokh is a Visiting Senior Scientist/Research Scientist at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory of the Colorado State University (1991-present) and a Guest Professor at the Sino-US Center for Conservation and Energy Sustainability Science (SUCCESS), joint center of the US Arizona State University and Inner Mongolia University. Chuluun is a Member of the International Council for Science (ICSU) Regional Committee for Asia and the Pacific, Science Steering Committee Member of the Monsoon Asia Integrated Regional Study by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Member of the Science & Technology Committee, the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism. He is making contribution for the Earth System Scientific Program towards Global Sustainability, participating the 3rd Meeting of Earth System Visioning, Paris, France, February 10-11, 2011, giving keynote presentation on “New and emerging challenges” at “RIO+20” Regional Workshop for Asia & the Pacific. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 16-18, 2011, chairing a session on “Green and emerging challenges in Asia” at the “Planet Under Pressure: New knowledge towards solutions” - a major international conference to provide scientific leadership towards the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio+20, March 26-29, 2012 and speaking as panelist at the Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development, RIO+20, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His research activities address adaptation, resilience and sustainability issues of social-ecological systems at local, national and regional scales. He focuses linking between science and policy, between global environmental change research and sustainable development. His research was funded by the US National Science Foundation, NASA, the European Commission EuropeAid Cooperation Office, and Asia-Pacific Network on Global Environmental Change.
