About Lonnie

Lonnie Inzer has been an affiliate faculty member of the Fire and Emergency Services Administration (FESA) degree program since 2008. He is a 1981 graduate of the Department of Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Interpretation degree, Warner College of Forestry and Natural Resources. He also has a master's degree in organizational leadership from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. Lonnie worked as a seasonal park ranger and forestry technician for the USFS, NPS and the Colorado Division of Parks. He attained a career park ranger position with the Army Corps of Engineers working at Lewisville Lake in Texas and Cochiti Lake in New Mexico. Lonnie transitioned careers and became a Firefighter in 1984, with 22 years of service. He retired as a Fire Captain with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. He worked part-time and then career as a professor for the Fire Science Technology degree program for twenty-seven years. During that time, he served for five years as the Dean of the Business, Social Sciences, and Public Safety Division. In addition, he served eight years as the Emergency Manager and Deputy Director for the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management serving El Paso County and the City of Colorado Springs.
