Collaborate with ASCSU & Committees
At least once a month, the Warner College student representative from each committee (ASCSU, UTFAB, UFFAB, ATFAB, WCNR STFC) will join us at a College Council meeting to update and consult the council on any projects or proposals that the committee is currently addressing.
Ram Welcome
Ram Welcome is a weekend long event for freshmen and transfer students to become acquainted with the university. During the Friday session, the students attend orientation in their respective colleges. In WNCR, we have speakers and break into small groups with a professor and college council member.
Fall Picnic
The WCNR Fall Picnic is a “welcome back” event for the Warner College of Natural Resources. It is a time for students, faculty, and staff to connect with one another, catch up on summertime news, and get excited for the new year.
Gear Swap
The WCNR Gear Swap is a fun event for students to come together for the love of recreation and the outdoors. Students have the opportunity to bring gear (hiking, camping, skiing, rock climbing, etc…) and sell or bargain with other students for different gear. Usually in November.
Networking Dinner
The Networking Dinner is another signature event for WCNR College Council. The event provides an opportunity for students to network with potential employers and alum in the field of natural resources. The event is coordinated with the All-Campus Career Fair and the WCNR Career Education Manager to capture the greatest diversity of potential employers.
NR Days
NR Days is an annual celebration of the Warner College of Natural Resources. The weeklong festival features a plaza day with an assortment of booths, fun activities, live band, and barbeque; a banquet and awards ceremony; a pancake breakfast; a bike ride; and a volunteer event. Usually around Earth Day.
Silent Auction
This is typically our largest fundraiser. The group solicits donations from the college and community and then silently auctions them off during a fall evening event. Usually in October/November.
Outreach
Part of WCNR College Council mission is to reach out to high school and transfer students who share the same passion for natural resources that we do and recruit them to become CSU students in the Warner College of Natural Resources.
College Council Social Events
Although WCNR College Council is very busy throughout the year organizing all sorts of college-wide events, it is not all work and no play. As a group, college council members get the opportunity to hang out with each other at a variety of fun, social events. In the past, we have gone hiking, biking, group dinners, even the occasional bonfire.
