Admissions Requirements

The Professional Science Master’s in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability does NOT require a faculty advisor for admission; however, please refer to the guidelines listed below.

The preferred application deadline for Fall Admissions is February 1st for full consideration and early admission decision.  Applicants to the Professional Science Master’s may apply after this date, but it is recommended you adhere to this deadline to apply for scholarships through CSU.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (Undergraduate degrees in unrelated fields may require additional coursework.)
  • Preferred undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (Minimum for CSU Graduate School admission is 3.0 GPA)
  • Official scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) general test in the 70th percentile and above (*Please note that the GRE requirement has been waived for Fall 2023 applicants.) 
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A personal statement describing your interest in the program, desired track, and career goals
  • Resume or curriculum vita
  • International Applicants: English Proficiency scores meeting Graduate School minimums
