About Minh

Minh Nguyen is working to conserve one of the most exclusive deer species of the world who is on the brink of extinction, the large-antlered muntjac. The species only lives in a mysterious tropical forest of the Annamites region of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. At their home, snares are depleting most wildlife residents without exception to the large-antlered muntjac. Therefore, Minh is seeking for a solution to address this snaring crisis through her Ph.D research. More specifically, Minh is studying about the impacts of snares on ungulates populations to identify the snaring threshold, below which these populations still have the chance to persist. The research results will be used to inform Minh's conservation program for the species in the Annamites.
