ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER FIRESIDE EVENT

Join us for the 1st Sundays Fireside event series at the CSU Environmental Learning Center…this month on April 12, the 2nd Sunday, from 3 pm to 5 pm. The theme for April is “Earth Day.” Enjoy a relaxing afternoon outdoors with nature activities, crafts, and time around the campfire. The event is family-friendly and fun for all ages! We do not allow pets; service animals are welcome.
$5 per adult and $3 per child in cash at the door, or register online and your children can attend for free! Members and their families may attend for free!

Level up your environmental education skills by exploring the benefits of urban forests! Gain ready-to-use PLT tools that help your future audiences engage in inclusive dialogue and investigate how city trees support wellness and environmental health for all. You’ll receive lessons from PLT’s Discover Your Urban Forest activity guide. This workshop is FREE and open to students, staff, and community members, but only 40 spots are available! RSVP HERE

The SUPER Program brings together teaching from the Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability (ESS) with research mentoring performed largely by Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory (NREL) scientists. Undergraduate students from all WCNR majors are given the opportunity to perform research on their own or part of a team. Students from the 2025-2026 cohort will be sharing their research projects and findings with the WCNR community.

CSU ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

The CSU community and student volunteers are welcome to join us on the north side of Hartshorn. The celebration will include a short ceremony followed by a tree planting demonstration before planting 5 trees in honor of Arbor Day. This is our 16th consecutive arbor day planting, and our 15th year being acknowledged as a Tree Campus Higher Education institution. *Back-up date (in case of inclement weather): April 24, 12-1 p.m.
