Please read the following instructions carefully and inform your guests of times, locations, parking, and building access. Please complete the online attendance form if you plan to attend the commencement ceremony.

Fall 2016 Commencement will be held Sunday, December 18th at 9:00 a.m.
Spring 2017 Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 14th at 10:00 a.m.

Regalia Orders and Distribution

DISTRIBUTION (students and faculty)
 
  • Students may rent their regalia on-line at http://colleges.herffjones.com/college/_coloradostate/ or with cash only during the scheduled pick-up times on Wednesday And Thursday, May 10 and 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Moby Arena C-Wing C102 (east side of Moby Complex, near the Intramural Gym). Estimated costs for regalia are $25.25 for Bachelor's regalia and $48.25 for Master's/Doctorate regalia.
  • Or students may also order their regalia and an Alumni Association membership in advance via Grad Packs starting at $43 on the Commencement homepage: www.commencement.colostate.edu. Students, except for doctoral candidates, keep their caps and tassels. The deadline for online ordering is Wednesday, April 5

Additionally, regalia may be picked up one hour prior to their ceremony at the Moby Complex, until 10 am Sunday, May 14. No regalia, student or faculty, may be picked up after 10 am Sunday, May 14. 

         Regalia Returns

         Return of regalia will be immediately after the ceremony to the Moby C-Wing- same place distribution is taking place OR to          the Information Desk in the Lory Student Center, ground level.
         Please note that there may be a charge for late returns. Any late returns should be sent directly to:

Faculty

Faculty need to reserve their regalia online. Click here to reserve your regalia.

Using the drop down menu, find your name, click on it then hit continue. You must first click “Edit Order” and review ALL your order information before confirming. Please add your Department and Email Address. You will receive an immediate email confirmation of your order. If you do not receive the email confirmation, please contact Unique Recognition at 970-663-2668. If your name does not appear, simply click on “New Faculty Member” and carefully follow instructions. IF YOU MISSED THE ON-LINE ORDERING DEADLINE: Your regalia order must now be phoned in to Unique Recognition (970) 663-2668 or emailed This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . While Unique Recognition / Herff Jones will attempt to fill late orders, heavy demand at this time of year prevents them from making any guarantees. Any orders received after the above deadline will automatically be assessed a $20.00 late fee and if the order requires special shipping arrangements, additional charges will be added. All late orders (rental fee plus any late fees) are NONREFUNDABLE and must be paid at time of ordering. All late orders will be available for On-Site Pick Up only in the Moby CWing. Late orders cannot be shipped to a department.

Diploma Covers

Graduates receive a diploma cover at Commencement. The actual diplomas will be mailed to graduates six to eight weeks after commencement. For those unable to attend the ceremonies, diploma covers are available in the Registrar's Office (at no charge). Diploma covers can be mailed by calling 491-7159; the postage cost is $5.00 per cover for U.S. mailings.

Announcements, Class Ring Sales, and Grad Fair

Representatives from CB Grad Announcements (announcements) and Josten’s (class rings) will be present on February 14, 15, and 16 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Flea Market area (outside the University Bookstore) to take advanced, customized orders. After February 16, announcement orders may be placed at www.cbgrad.com or by calling 800-433-0296. Customized orders are returned within seven days of being ordered.  The Grad Fair, sponsored by the Bookstore, will be one day only – February 15, 10:00 a.m.-2:00p.m. (LSC Flea Market Area).

 
 
Generic announcements (non-personalized announcements) may be purchased at the University Bookstore any time.
 
Veteran Information
Veteran stoles will be available when you pick up your regalia in Moby Gym. Stoles are free to the students and do not have to be returned although we do ask you to sign for them. If the student is not on the list at the Veteran Stole table in Moby, then it means they need to see Jenny Pickett in the Adult Learner and Veteran Services Office with documents to confirm they are a veteran or military member. There will be a similar email going out to our veterans who intend to graduate to make sure we cover all of our bases. Student veterans who are physically walking will have priority over those who are not walking. Pictures
Professional photographers will take your picture as you receive your diploma. Colorado Candids will contact you about your proofs three to four weeks after the ceremony. GradImages is the official photographer at the ceremony. Your photos will be available to view and order by visiting www.gradimages.com. Simply enter your Last Name, School Name, and select 2016 from the drop down menu. Once you see your name, click on the link to view your photos. Guests and Seating
No tickets will be issued and our ceremony is free and open to the public. You are encouraged to invite as many guests as you wish. As a courtesy to other guests, we ask that you do not block off rows of seats. There is no reserved seating. Guests should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9am. 
 
Disabled Seating/Access
Fall 2016 commencement ceremonies are at Moby Arena. Please use the guidelines below to suggest parking options for families and guests. The first two rows of the north and south sides of Moby are designated for those guests who need assistance, who have mobility issues. The first three rows in section P are for the hearing impaired and the four "corners" are designated for wheelchair guests and a companion. Access into Moby can be via north and south entrances, although north is the easiest for dropping off guests as it faces the street. For more information about elderly or disabled accommodations, please call the Dean's office at 970-491-4994.
 
Commencement Parking 

Fall 2016 commencement ceremonies are at Moby Arena. Please use the guidelines below to suggest parking options for families and guests. Construction on campus will impact available parking, particularly on Friday. For the most up to date announcements regarding parking and construction impact please check the CSU construction updates website.

Friday before 4 p.m.
FREE PARKING is available in Moby Arena Lot 195 (grid location A – 6 on the CSU Campus Parking Map ) or in Lot 240 (grid location E-11 on the CSU Campus Parking Map). A free shuttle, "Around the Horn," travels to the Lory Student Center every 10 minutes from the Moby Arena lot.

There is paid parking in the pay-by-plate spaces in Lot 310, which is located north of the Lory Student Center. See grid location I - 5 on the CSU Campus Parking Map. The pay-by-plate spaces are located in the west half of Lot 310 (colored orange with a picture of a clock on the parking map). There are also pay-by-plate spaces in Lot 425, which is located due west of the Morgan Library (grid location H – 8.5 on the campus map). The pay-by-plate spaces are located in the south half of Lot 425 (colored orange with a picture of a clock on the parking map). Meter rates are $1.25 an hour.

FREE PARKING is available in all lots mentioned above, as Saturdays and Sundays are not regular university business days.

Decorum

 This ceremony is a very public event, reflecting upon you, your Department, your College, and the University. For this reason, we request that your behavior during the ceremony reflect the dignity and importance of this occasion for all of us. University administrators and members of the Board of Governors will participate in our ceremony. Alcoholic beverages or inappropriate substances or objects are not in keeping with the dignified nature of our commencement ceremony and are not permitted. Such items will be confiscated as you enter the line-up area. This ceremony is the capstone of the academic experience for you, other students, and families and friends. Your recognition of the rights of others to enjoy the ceremony free from disruptive or inappropriate behavior is appreciated.

Guest conduct restrictions
Prohibited items not allowed in Commencement and Commissioning venues include the following:
1.  Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs carried in by patrons.
2.  Glass bottles or metal cans.
3.  Ice chests or large coolers.
4.  Bota bags or wine skins.
5.  Sticks, bats or clubs, including any attachments.
6.  Fireworks, firearms or other weapons, or simulated weapons.
7.  Bullhorns or other artificial noisemakers.
8.  Framed backpacks.
9.  Animals other than certified guide dogs for the disabled.
