Overview of CSU Fly Fishing Club
The CSU Fly Fishing Club formed in 2016 as a way for students to get together and enjoy fly fishing, as well as to participate in aquatic conservation. We are a Chapter of the Trout Unlimited (TU) 5 Rivers program. 5 Rivers is the collegiate program of TU, a national organization that promotes coldwater conservation through fly fishing.
The CSU Fly Fishing Club is open to students of all knowledge and skill levels. You don’t have to know anything about fly fishing or aquatic conservation to join – we can teach you! We have fishing outings, fly tying get-togethers, conservation projects, guest speakers, and more. This club is a great way to share knowledge and experiences, meet like-minded individuals, and connect with the angling community at large.
Here are some highlights of previous years: Gunnison Salmon Fishing Trip – Catching Sockeye salmon with the Gunnison 5 Rivers club every fall is always a blast! 5 Rivers rendezvous – TU 5 Rivers puts on a FREE gathering for all clubs in the Midwest/western US every year! The rendezvous is sponsored by Costa and Simms, and there are a ton of free giveaways, activities, conservation projects, and fishing (often on private water).
