About Austin

I am a freshwater ecologist/aquaculturist interested in how diet compositions affect individuals and their offspring. I use fatty acids and stable isotopes as tools to describe long-term foraging habits and connect those habits to individual's condition, reproductive output, and offspring characteristics. Currently my work focuses on: 1) describing foraging habits of fish populations within the Great Lakes, 2) evaluating models that use fatty acid profiles to quantify diet compositions, and 3) assessing the effects diet formulations have on broodstock.
