About Nicole

I'm a geophysics graduate student in the Department of Geosciences at Colorado State University under the advisorship of Rick Aster. I grew up in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma and got my B.S. in geophysics from the University of Oklahoma (2009). I went on to attain my M.S. in geophysics from Michigan Tech (2011) using seismicity as a stress indicator at Yellowstone with Greg Waite. I then went on to pursue my Ph.D. with Rick at New Mexico Tech, relocating to Colorado State. My current research involves using subspace detection to build earthquake catalogs in induced seismicity and aftershock sequences in Oklahoma as well as a subglacial volcanic sequence in Antarctica. I am currently interning at the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, CO with Harley Benz working towards operationalizing subspace detection.
