WCNR Laptop Checkout Policies & Procedures »

Only students officially recognized as majors, secondary majors, or minors in the college, or currently enrolled in a class can check out equipment from the WCNR computer labs. To checkout a laptop, students will be required to provide a valid CSU student ID. Students can also only checkout one laptop at a time.

These laptops have the same software installed as the WCNR Computer Lab computers and are connected to the college network drive (N-drive) as well as a special laptop wireless network.

The laptops can be checked out for up to 5 hours (or 30 minutes before the lab closes) before they must be returned. You can check the Computer Lab Hours and Availability for lab hours.

Extended Checkout

If students have a need to keep a laptop over night (or for a duration over 5 hours) then they should take advantage of the extended checkout option available to WCNR students. An extended checkout may be made for up to 4 days, making this ideal for checking out a equipment over the weekend.

Liability, Late Returns, and Misuse

  • Students are financially responsible for all equipment they check out.
  • Students should never leave any equipment checked out from the labs unattended.
  • Where necessary, the college will seek financial restitution from students who do not return equipment.
  • The college reserves the right to revoke checkout privileges at any time based upon violation of the above policies. (including, but not limited to, returning damaged equipment, not returning equipment, or returning equipment late).

Please review the official Checkout Laptop Policy for more detailed information on these policies.
