While this graduate certificate does not require any formal internship, we advise that you work within the industry during your studies so that you gain the necessary and valuable experience required in order to be a successful ski area manager. At the same time, you’ll be able to apply what you learn through this program directly to your day-to-day activities, making it all the more valuable.
If you are interested in working for a ski area or undertaking an internship, feel free to contact us. We have connections with resorts of all sizes, from small (but highly successful) family ski areas like Wachusett Mountain Resort, MA to publicly-traded corporations such as Vail Resorts and Intrawest, and even organizations such as the Brendle Group who work closely with the ski industry to assist with their sustainability efforts. Each of these ski areas and organizations among many others, have expressed direct interest in hiring students who are taking this program, as they recognize the value in having employees that have a broad understanding of the industry and a strong foundation in finance, marketing, management, planning, and human resources.
