While this graduate certificate does not require any formal internship, we advise that you work within the industry during your studies so that you gain the necessary and valuable experience required in order to be successful. Concurrent work and study is an excellent way to apply what you learn through this program directly to your day-to-day activities, making it all the more valuable and salient.

If you are interested in undertaking an internship, feel free to contact us, as our contacts within the adventure tourism industry are varied and extensive. We have connections with businesses of all sizes, from highly successful small operations such as Mountain Whitewater to publicly-traded corporations such as Vail Resorts. Many partners, businesses, and trade organizations have expressed direct interest in hiring students who are taking this program, as they recognize the value in having employees that have a broad understanding of the industry and a strong business acumen.  Additionally, our faculty have personal entrepreneurial experience and can aid students who wish to realize their dream of starting their own adventure tourism business.
