Rebecca Gruby, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources, is leading a research and outreach project focused on the human dimensions of large marine protected areas.

The project includes case studies in Bermuda, Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and Kiribati.

In February 2017, Dr. Gruby met with Palau’s president, H.E. President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., to discuss her research on Palau’s National Marine Sanctuary. For more information on this project, click here.
