Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources Professor Emeritus William Dwain Miller was born on April 21, 1929 and passed away on October 27, 2018, surrounded by those he loved.  He left a lasting mark on the department, the CSU community, and throughout Colorado through his commitment to responsible outdoor recreation and preservation of natural and open spaces.

Professor Miller was hired as the first parks and recreation director for the city of Boulder. Following his work in establishing the rules and ordinances that protect Boulder’s open spaces and parks, Miller went on to teach at Colorado State University.

He was also an awarded Korea medic veteran, you can listen to his story recorded at CSU.

Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
