My research utilizes field, lab, and greenhouse studies to understand the drivers of species distributions across the landscape. Projects are currently underway on a gradient of landscape scales, ranging from a fine-scale study of conifer distributions across hydrologic gradients in Southeast Alaska to a large-scale, range-wide study of the distribution of Pinus contorta across the western United States.
