Strata Labels
Each stratum in a multi-strata design must have a single character that identifies it in the encounter histories. This single-character code can consist of numerical digits, i.e., 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 for a data set with 5 strata, or alphabetic characters, i.e., X, Y, and Z to identify 3 strata. To more clearly identify the strata, the strata names can be provided.
