PIM Chart
The PIM Chart graphically displays the values of each PIM so that you can visualize what the relationships are of the parameter values you have entered. The y-axis shows the basic parameters (i.e., phi, p, S, r, F, etc.) of the model, and the x-axis is the value entered in the PIM Windows. From the PIM Chart, you can see which parameter indicess are common to the basic parameters
The capability to edit the values in the PIMs without actually opening the PIM Window means that quick editing of very large PIM matrices is provided without the overhead of setting up each parameter in its own edit box.
The real power of the PIM Chart is the ability to manipulate the PIM's graphically.
Drag PIM Box
.
You can drag a box of parameters horizontally to change the values in the PIM to be the same as the location to which the box was dragged. Thus, a simple procedure to make 2 PIMs equal is to drag one PIM box to a position above the other. Hold down the left mouse key on the PIM box to be dragged, and then move it to the desired position.
Drap Single Parameter
If you only want to drag a single parameter, hold down the Ctrl key when you click on the box for that parameter. Then, release the Ctrl key (still holding down on the left mouse button) and drag the parameter box to a new position.
Drag Multiple Boxes
To "lasso" multiple PIMs, hold down the shift key, and then hold down the left mouse button. A dashed-line rectangle will show as you drag the mouse around the set of boxes you want to move. To have a box included in the lassoed set, you have to include the box's origin (lower left corner) inside the dashed-line triangle. When you have enclosed the origin of all the desired PIM boxes, release the left mouse button, and then the Shift key. The lassoed PIM boxes will now be colored green. Place your cursor somewhere on the green boxes, and then drag them to the desired location. If you choose to not move the green PIM boxes, just click on them and they will revert to their orginal blue color.
Note that you can also lasso just a portion of a PIM, so that a set of consecutive parameters can be moved.
Pop-up Menu
Further capabilities are available by right-clicking the PIM Chart. A pop-up menu is provided to renumber with and without overlap, to change the block of parameters to an age, constant, or time PIM, or to provide information on the parameter that was under the mouse when the right button was clicked. The PIM Chart will automatically rescale as you change the number of parameters, or renumber the PIM's.
