All Different Matrix


A parameter matrix that has all its values different for every row and column is termed an "All Different" matrix.  In the following parameter matrix, with 5 occasions and 5 cohorts, each cohort has a different parameter value for each occasion.

This parameter matrix coding is generally not used unless a Design Matrix is applied to reduce the number of parameters.  The reason is that the parameters in such a matrix are seldom (if ever) identifiable in the models build in MARK.
