Blue Mesa (BMR) & Granby (GRR) reservoirs have sustained high quality fishing for kokanee (KOK) & trophy lake trout (MAC).  Both fisheries crashed in GRR in the 1990’s.  Biologists & researchers are trying to prevent this from occurring at BMR & to restore these fisheries in GRR.

Annual stocking of fry is required to maintain CO’s KOK populations.  MAC are self-sustaining, but have been stocked sporadically. Mysis is established in GRR, but not in BMR.
