Program Descriptions

Wild Fort Collins

Join us to discover what is wild about Fort Collins. We’ll explore the local weather, wildlife and even the water that flows in the Cache la Poudre River.

Young Experimenters

Students will participate in hands-on experiments from environmental disciplines of science such as geology and meteorology. By using the scientific method, recording data and running experiments, students will study and connect with the natural environment.

Conservation Club

The three principles of conservation (reduce, reuse, recycle) will guide this program; we will learn how to reduce our use of energy and water. Students will get creative, reusing materials in projects such as garbage art. We will recycle everything we can from bottles to banana peels while exploring the excitement of compost and worm bins!

Wild about Wildlife

Students will learn about the adaptations that help wildlife survive and the ecosystems in which they live. They will become expert trackers, identifying wildlife by their tracks and scat.

Naturally Creative

Nature is naturally beautiful, and we will explore nature’s beauty using art and storytelling in this after school program. Students will read and write stories in and about the natural world. We’ll also make art using nature and with nature as our artistic subject. Each week, we’ll explore a different form of art or storytelling.

We also run a girls-only science program called Girls Advancing Scientific Progress (GASP!) at several local elementary schools.
