Dear Warner College Alumni, Friends, Faculty, and Staff,

Happy New Year to you all!

The College had a wonderful close to 2013, as we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2013 on Dec. 21. We were honored to welcome former U.S. senator and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar as our keynote speaker, and I look forward to hearing from our new young alumni as they embark on their exciting natural resource careers.

2014 is already off to a wonderful start, as four outstanding candidates have been announced for the Warner College of Natural Resources dean position.

The candidates are:

Dr. Mark Ryan
Director, The School of Natural Resources, University of Missouri
C.V.  -  Letter of Interest

Dr. John Hayes
Dean of Research and Director of The Florida Agricultural Experiment Station
University of Florida
C.V.  -  Letter of Interest

Dr. Janaki Alavalapati
Professor and Head, Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation
Virginia Polytechnic and State University
C.V.  -  Letter of Interest

Dr. John Volin

I hope everyone on campus will take part in the open forums; alumni and friends will be able to watch the forum presentations online. During this time, I'm looking forward to continuing to serve as dean to ensure a smooth transition for the College.
