DEPARTMENT SEMINARS

The Geosciences Department offers weekly seminars every semester.  Seminars are located in 320 Michael Smith Natural Resources Building on Thursday afternoons at 12:30pm.  Food is provided.  Participation in department seminars is an excellent way to learn more about a topic in the field and network with faculty and industry professionals!  To view the seminar schedule for this semester, go to the seminar website.

DEPARTMENT MENTORING PROGRAM

Undergraduate students in the Geosciences department have the opportunity to apply for a graduate student mentor in the department.  Students are recruited for mentor and mentee position each year, and the participants are selected on an application basis. If  you have questions about the program, please contact Angela Sharpe.

DEPARTMENT RESEARCH, INDEPENDENT STUDY, TEACHING, AND WORK-STUDY POSITIONS

The Geosciences department offers several positions for undergraduate students including work-study positions, research positions, and undergraduate teaching assistantships every semester.  Students who are interested in being considered for a position with the department need to fill out the department application and submit a copy of their resume and unofficial transcript to the department office in  322 Michael Smith Natural Resources Building or email it to Angela Sharpe. If you have questions about the application process or department positions, please contact Angela Sharpe.
