M.S. Assistantship on Sauger Thermal Physiology

 
Position or Title: M.S. Graduate Assistantship in fish physiology/fish culture
 
Agency/State: Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, collaborating with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
 
Responsibilities:  The student will participate in a 2-yr study on improving our understanding of how temperature influences the early life history of Sauger (Sander canadense) to provide information needed to manage Wyoming’s sauger populations.
 
Qualifications: Required - B.S. degree in fisheries, aquaculture, biology, or related field; cumulative undergraduate GPA ≥ 3.0; combined average score > 70th percentile on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the GRE; strong writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
Desired - experience rearing fish under laboratory conditions; experience with fish culture; experience with collecting and spawning fish in the field; interest in pursuing a career in fisheries management.
 
Salary:  Research & teaching assistantships provide annual stipends and tuition.
