Macroinvertebrates - Ephemeral Channels

Because of the very small drainage area and lack of perennial flow, macroinvertebrates present in ephemeral channels are likely to be those tolerant of disturbance and able to migrate between what may be widely separated patches of suitable habitat.

Vertebrates - Ephemeral Channels

Based on the elevation distributions below, we assume that species are present in any perennial flow process domain within their respective elevation range. Fish are thus unlikely to be present in ephemeral channels.
