Data Sources (Metadata) for
Mathematics! Using ArcView GIS

*The data sources described below are included in the Mathematics! K-12 project.

Disclaimer: The data sources included for this project have been manipulated for the sole purpose of the lessons described within this project. These data sources are not to be used for "real-world" mapping projects.

The Shapefiles (*.shp) and ArcView Project Files (*.apr) for this project are contained in the folder:   Mathematics-7th

All other users may download the data from this site.

The following ArcView Shapefiles were extracted from the Colorado Geography CD-ROM, U.S. Department of Interior, USGS, Rocky Mountain Mapping Center Version 1.0, June 9, 1999. All data is unprojected.

• co_bound.shp - bounding polygon for the State of Colorado
• wildland.shp - polygons of only wilderness areas and national parks extracted from original 'fedlands.shp'
• fourteen.shp - point locations of 14,000 ft mountain peaks in Colorado extracted from original 'allfourteen.shp'
• contdiv.shp - line features of continental divide of only Colorado, extracted from original 'cont div.shp'

The Following ArcView Shapefiles were extracted from the ESRI World Atlas CD-ROM, 1998. All data is unprojected.

• worldgrd.shp - polygon grid covering the world, extracted from original 'world30.shp'
• country.shp - polygons of all countries in the world
• co_cnty.shp - polygons of county boundaries for only the State of Colorado, extracted from original 'dtl_cnty.shp'
